Registration information:
- Confirmation will be sent to the registrant's preferred mailing or email address.
- Registrations at an event commence half an hour before the start time. Please note registrations received one week before an event date may not receive course material on the day.
- Every care has been taken to ensure the event details are correct at the time of publication. NZICA reserves the right to alter, postpone or cancel any event prior to the event.
- If registrants have not received event confirmation two days prior to the event, please contact the Customer Service Centre.
Cancellation and refund requests
When registrants cannot attend an event, a substitute participant can attend that event at the same price.
When NZICA cancels a course, registered participants will receive a credit to the same value at another course for up to three months, or upon written request, a full refund.
Note the following before you cancel your registration:
- Cancellations received three or more working days prior to the start of the course will be refunded less a service fee of $100.
- For courses with a registration fee below $100 NZICA will hold the registrant's payment (less a service fee of $25) in credit for three months to be used as a credit against the member's next CPD event.
- For cancellations within less than three working days of the event no refund is given.
- For courses affected by severe weather conditions that prohibit a member from attending we will consider each application on a case-by-case basis.
- All cancellations must be in writing (letter, fax or email) to the Customer Service Centre.

Note the following before you cancel your registration:
- Where a student fails to complete the course, no refund is payable.
- Registrations are not transferable to other students.
- Students who fail to correspond with or submit an assignment to the course administrator within 12 months of their registration, or who fail to submit an assignment for 12 months thereafter, will be deemed inactive.
- Students wishing to reactivate their study will incur a service fee of $250 including GST.
- If, after a period of 24 inactive months a student wishes to reactivate their study, they will be required to pay the current fee in full. Those who reactivate their registrations will be treated as new students to the course.
Certificate of Achievement pass level
A minimum pass is to obtain a C grade for 10 assignments and a B grade for four assignments. To be awarded a certificate with distinction, a student must obtain at least an A grade for 12 assignments and a B grade for two assignments.
Assignment review
The tutor will mark all student assignments on behalf of the Institute. The tutor's decision on the pass mark awarded is final. A student may choose to rework any assignment and submit for remarking by the tutor. If any assignment is resubmitted, a further marking fee of $33.75 including GST will be applied to the student.
General pricing policy applicable to all events
All pricing is based on a differential fee structure (for members and non-members).
Registrations will not be actioned until payment is received. Confirmation of registration and a tax invoice/statement will be despatched once payment is received.

From time to time New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) conducts prize draws (Prize Draws).
Note the following:
- A person will receive one entry into a Prize Draw for each NZICA training course he or she registers for, pays for (either personally or by his or her employer) and which he or she attends during the relevant Promotional Period.
- A Prize Draw will be conducted by NZICA within 14 days of the end of the relevant Promotional Period or as otherwise determined by NZICA from time to time. The first eligible entry drawn from all entries in the Prize Draw will win the prize, being a prize specified by NZICA from time to time (the Prize).
- The Promotional Period for a particular Prize Draw is the period specified by NZICA from time to time.
- The winner of a Prize Draw will be notified by email at the email address provided on registration. Entrants are responsible for supplying a correct email address. If NZICA is unable to contact the winner within one month of the Prize Draw at the email address supplied, the winner's entry will be declared invalid and the Prize forfeited. If so, NZICA reserves the right to redraw another winner on the same terms and conditions as the original draw.
- NZICA reserves the right to request proof of registration, payment and/or attendance at an NZICA training course from a person claiming a Prize.
- Winners agree to the use of their name, image and photograph(s), by NZICA, for publicity and promotional purposes, without compensation. NZICA will own copyright in any such images and photograph(s) and in all material incorporating the photograph(s);
- Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash. In the event that a Prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond NZICA's control, NZICA may substitute a prize of equal value.
- Employees of NZICA and corporate entities are not eligible to enter Prize Draws or to win Prizes.
- Neither NZICA nor any other person associated with a Prize Draw shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss or loss of profits and including loss caused by negligence) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in a Prize Draw or the use of any Prize offered, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- If for any reason NZICA considers that a Prize Draw is not capable of running as planned, NZICA reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Prize Draws.
- NZICA reserves the right to cancel or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be deemed to be incorporated into these terms and conditions.
- NZICA's decision in relation to any aspects of a Prize Draw is final and binding on every person who enters and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Complimentary and discounted events will not be included in the iPad quarterly prize draw.
- Registrations must be made online via the NZICA website in order to be eligible for a Prize Draw.
