
NZICA Ngā Raumanako Māori Accounting Scholarship
Ngā Raumanako encapsulates the numerous ambitions and enterprise of aspiring students in accounting. The many desired pathways that are created and traversed are symbolised in the word Rau. Weaving the student closer to fulfilling the goals upon which their hearts are set, are represented in the word manako. Nā Paraone Gloyne and Hukiterangi Muru.
The NZICA Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship was developed under the Leading Light Scholarship programme in conjunction with Ngā Kaitatau Māori o Aotearoa (National Māori Accountants Network).
Purpose of Scholarship
To assist a young Māori student to excel in accounting and contribute to the successful economic development of the Māori community.
Selection criteria
In addition to being an NZICA Student Affiliate of Māori heritage and committed to the NZICA pathway, we are looking for an outstanding student who delivers strong academic results. You will be a future leader and team player who contributes to the Māori community and the New Zealand accounting profession. You must be a second or third year student.
Value
$5,000 plus a summer internship with NKMoA accounting firm partner.

3. Written references from two referees
- An academic referee, and
- Character reference from a kaumatua/elder older whānau member or tribal organisation

- Statement of the motivation behind your application for a NZICA Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship
- How you feel that you meet the characteristics, conditions and intentions of the NZICA Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship
- Your academic success and current grade point average
- Your leadership and teamwork skills and situations where you have used or developed these skills
- Outline any extracurricular and community activities you are involved in and what they mean to you
- Outline your career ambitions, including any involvement with NZICA and which designation you aim to pursue
- The contribution the applicant has or would like to make to the New Zealand Māori accounting profession or the community
- The personal impact the NZICA Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship will have if received
