Technical assistance

NZICA assists members in finding solutions to current technical challenges they may be facing. The service aims to provide support in the areas of financial reporting, audit and assurance, and management accounting. NZICA members may contact the Technical Services Team at technical@nzica.com for assistance.

Terms and conditions of assistance

The objective of NZICA providing members with technical assistance is to help members solve technical matters themselves by providing them with, or helping them to access, relevant and useful information.

Technical assistance will not involve the provision of professional judgement. Therefore, we do not provide advice on technical matters nor do we provide opinions regarding whether accounting positions supported by members are in agreement with NZ IFRS (or any other generally accepted accounting practice in New Zealand or internationally).

The service is available to full members of NZICA at no additional cost.

Whilst every effort is made to provide sufficient information to enable members to resolve technical matters themselves, no guarantee is made that the information provided is sufficient for this purpose. Members are advised to obtain additional information from other sources, including where possible from other members. Responses to technical queries reflect NZICA staff views in light of the context and information provided by the member and, therefore, do no reflect the official view of NZICA.

Every endeavour will be made to respond to the request for assistance within two business days of receiving the request. NZICA reserves the right to not provide technical assistance in cases where it believes it to be inappropriate to do so.

Other technical support

NZICA members are also able to access technical resources and advice relating to tax and professional support.
