Remuneration Survey methodology
Here is the breakdown of the types of members who completed the 2011 survey and the method used. Definitions for terms used in the main results can be found here too.
The 2011 Remuneration Survey in association with Randstad was completed by 9,639 members of NZICA, in the following breakdown:

All survey responses were received and analysed by an independent survey company, who retain all raw data. No individual data was supplied to any other party. Where response counts were too statistically low to be appropriately represented, the count has been omitted to ensure data integrity and member privacy.

Remuneration by location definition:
- AKL and Region includes Auckland CBD and suburbs/cities considered to be part of the wider Auckland region.
- WGTN and Region includes Wellington CBD and suburbs/cities considered to be part of the wider Wellington region.
- CHCH and Region includes Christchurch CBD and surrounding suburbs and towns considered to be part of the wider Christchurch region.
- NTH ISL REGIONAL includes those areas which are not part of the Wellington and Auckland cities or regions.
- STH ISL REGIONAL includes those areas which are not part of the wider Christchurch region.
