Tax practitioner liaison with Inland Revenue
Tax Liaison Groups aim to improve the communication, processes and arrangements between tax practitioners and Inland Revenue.
Tax Liaison Groups, comprising local tax practitioners and Inland Revenue managers, meet throughout the country during the year with the objective of addressing local operational tax issues affecting NZICA members in public practice. The groups provide a forum for tax issues at a local level to be aired, resolved and managed. Sole practitioners and small to medium sized firms find this to be particularly useful.
National issues are fed through to NZICA’s National Tax Advisory Group, which endeavors to ensure that common local issues are resolved or accelerated for resolution and communicated back to members. The forums have resulted in useful process changes and better information for practitioners. Meetings are not intended for practitioners to work through individual tax payer’s issues, but rather operational issues and the service provided by Inland Revenue.
Meetings are held four times per year and practitioners are invited to submit questions or issues for discussion to the group. Practitioners may also wish to attend meetings.
Confirmed meeting dates for various locations in the Southern region are listed below, and others are yet to be confirmed. If you are interested in attending one of these meetings or would like further information, please contact:
