NZICA gathers business leaders
Christchurch business leaders met yesterday to talk about how to get back to business as usual.
More than 70 members from corporate businesses and chartered accountancy firms attended the NZICA “CA Response and Rebuild Forum” in Christchurch on 15 March.
The forum focused on what could be done to support NZICA members and their clients’ businesses in Christchurch and examined practical solutions to secure Christchurch’s long-term financial future.
Inland Revenue Chief Executive and Commissioner Bob Russell, Westpac Head of Business Banking South Island John Brophy, NZICA Chief Executive Terry McLaughlin, President Ross Jackson, and Chairman Graham Crombie spoke during the forum, along with experts on business interruption insurance from Crombie Lockwood.
The forum generated significant media coverage, which reflects the valuable contribution it made in bringing the business community together to prioritise issues and propose practical solutions.
There’s a detailed summary of the forum’s proceedings on this website’s earthquake response section. In particular, you may find the sample disaster recovery plan, which Crombie Lockwood has made available to our members, useful.
A second forum, for small/medium firms and sole practitioners will be held in Christchurch on Wednesday 30 March.
