The following is an overview of the requirements for becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Chartered Accountant is one of three membership designations we offer. If you intend to offer accounting services to the public, Chartered Accountant membership is a prerequisite to holding a Certificate of Public Practice.

As a Chartered Accountant you will need to develop advanced business, strategic and leadership skills to join the ranks of high-performing business professionals.

To become a Chartered Accountant, you'll need to complete:

  • academic study
  • a practical experience programme
  • a professional competence programme.

As a Chartered Accountant, you'll be internationally recognised as holding a world-class business designation and enjoy reciprocal membership rights with leading professional accounting bodies.
