Executive management team
The Executive Management Team (EMT) is a multi disciplinary senior leadership group responsible for implementing NZICA’s five year strategic plan.
Each business division is led by a General Manager or Director reporting into the Chief Executive. Collectively they provide both strategic leadership and operational management across the organisation.

Terry McLaughlin became Chief Executive in June 2008. Before that, he was Executive Director of Audit New Zealand. Born in Rangiora, Terry spent his early years on a dairy farm before moving to Christchurch. There, he took his Bachelor of Commerce at Canterbury University. Before moving to Audit New Zealand, he was Assistant Auditor-General in the Parliamentary Group at the Office of the Auditor-General. His private-sector experience includes six years at Ernst & Young in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He was also a member of the Institute's Professional Standards Board from 1998 to 2005, serving as the deputy chair for part of that time. He is a past member of the National Professional Development Committee and the Wellington Public Sector Committee.
