Board

The Board is responsible for NZICA's strategy, policy and operations, has eight members (six NZICA members and two independent) and meets eight times a year. The President, Vice President and Chief Executive Officer have speaking rights but no voting rights (ex-officio members).

Graham Crombie FCA, Chair

Partner and CEO of PolsonHiggs

Graham is a Fellow and past President (2008) of NZICA. He is a partner and the CEO of PolsonHiggs, specialising in both internal and external audit. Graham also holds range of governance roles including Chairman of the Otago Museum Trust Board and Deputy Chair of NZ Genomics Ltd.

Catherine is a former partner in charge of assurance and advisory services for PwC in Central and Eastern Europe (excluding the Commonwealth of Independent States). She brings a range of commercial and governance experience to the Board.

 

 

Murray Jack CA

Chair of Deloitte

Murray is a former head of the Deloitte Asia Pacific consulting practice and brings wide governance experience to the Board.

 

 

Allan Newman FCA

Director of Sadler Oakly Newman Limited

Allan is a Fellow of NZICA and has been an NZICA Councillor since 2005. He has been a member of the National Public Practice Committee since 1999 (Chair in 2009) and is Director of Sadler Oakly Newman Limited, Chartered Accountants in Masterton.

 

 

Craig Norgate CA

Company Director and Investor

Craig brings broad knowledge of governance and extensive executive experience. He is Director of numerous companies and was the start-up CEO of Fonterra from 2001 until 2003.

 

  

Neil Paviour-Smith CA

Managing Director of Forsyth Barr

Neil has been Managing Director of Forsyth Barr since 2001, and is a Director of New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX). He has extensive experience in domestic capital markets and funds management.

Doug has extensive business and not-for-profit sector experience. He has been a Chief Executive at Lion Nathan, Carter Holt, Sealord Group Ltd and Executive Chairman and CEO of Independent Liquor.  He has recently been appointed Chief Executive of the new Auckland Council.

 

 

Hugh Rennie QC

Queen's Counsel at Harbour Chambers (Barristers)

Hugh is a Queens Counsel, who works in commercial and public law. He is a former Chair of the BCNZ, the Royal NZ Ballet, and M-co International Ltd. He is a former Director of the Bank of New Zealand and Fletcher Challenge.

Richard Austin FCA, President

Director of Strategic Wealth Management Group

Richard is the current NZICA President. He is Director and shareholder of Strategic Wealth Management Group, a boutique wealth management practice based in Christchurch which specialises in investment strategy and wealth management for high net worth individuals, complex family groups and trusts. He is an independent Director of several companies and is a trustee of a large charitable organisation.

Liz is the current NZICA Vice President. She is a Fellow of NZICA and past Chair of the Financial Reporting Standards Board. She is a director of Southern Cross Healthcare Group and Environmental Science and Research Limited.
